The Shape Picker command icon is located on the Home tab and can be used as an alternative to using the 4-way drop list in Shape Selection. Simply use the corresponding command button to turn its visibility On/Off. It can be resized and/or set as Floating or Docking.

Using the Shape Picker

Display
The picker is displayed in a tree view, where 'Subtrees' can be opened and closed. 'Subtrees' are arranged...
- Library in the title bar e.g. ShapeMaster-2 (this must be first selected using the Shape Selection);
- Type as the first level of the tree (with ShapeMaster there is normally only one Type i.e. Shape);
- Sub-Types (if there are any) as a second level e.g. Rectangle;
- list of related Shapes.
When you click on a shape name, it selects that shape into the Tool and displays an image of it at the bottom of the picker. This makes the shape selection...
- bold in the tree;
- displays the image of the shape at the bottom of the picker;
- updates the 4-way combo group in Shape Selection, shown above;

- updates the selection in the Current Palette.

The default position is on the left in Docking mode but you can Auto Hide (in Docking mode) or Float (useful with multiple screens).
Shape Tool
The selected shape/item can be customised before placement by :-
- double clicking on selection to open Shape Tool;
or
- click on selection and use the Shape Tool command button on the ribbon;
or
- right click on selection which will open a menu, as shown, and click Format Shape Tool.
The will display with a blue background and all future placements of this shape will retain your changes.
